25th Anniversary - Mary’s Meals
International Hotel Management (IHM) at Stenden university celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2012. IHM wants 2012 not to be only a celebration year for students and relations but would like to contribute to the lives and education of less fortunate pupils by fundraising for charity partner Mary’s Meal. Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding projects in some of the world’s poorest communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.
The principle of Mary’s Meals is simple. To provide one daily meal in a place of education in order to attract chronically poor children into a classroom where they gain an education that can, in the future, be their ladder out of poverty. The cost to feed one child for a year is € 8.00 and it costs € 8,000.00 to sponsor a school kitchen.
In week 4.7 (the 4th -8th of June), there can be several donations made for this charity. Therefore, keep a close watch on the television screens and the social media of the school, hotel and canteen for the activities which are held. Because your donation is needed as well! Last module, € 1,000.00 was collected, however together we can ensure that we collect even more money in module 4 for these children.
